Details:

tebu-bio, a company specialized in supplying and distributing reagents for Life Science research as well through the provision of contract services through the company\'s own R&D laboratories, and Smartox Biotechnology have  signed a new distribution agreement signed. Smartox Biotechnology specializes in the production of synthetic peptides originating from venomous animals such as spiders, cone snails and scorpions. Venomous toxins are known to selectively inhibit or activate ion channels and can therefore be used as molecular tools to modulate their function.
The deal between these two organizations came about as a result of the obvious synergy between the two different organization\'s core businesses. The toxins offered by Smartox Biotechnology will complement tebu-bio\'s existing portfolio of active enzymes and substrates specifically developed for assay development in pharmaceutical research with many more high quality products destined for ion channel research.
