  • • On October 23, 2014, Cardio3 BioSciences announced the appointment of Dr. Warren Sherman as chief medical officer, effective as of 1 November 2014. In this new role, Dr. Sherman will leverage his deep expertise in the cardiovascular and cell therapy fields to support the continued development of Cardio3 BioSciences’ product pipeline, both in cell therapies and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Sherman is a renowned American interventional cardiologist with more than 30 years’ experience in the field of cardiology, with a focus in cell-based therapies for treating patients post myocardial infarction and with heart failure. Before joining Cardio3 BioSciences as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sherman was at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York, where he served in a number of capacities, including: Interventional Cardiologist at Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital; Director of Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy; and Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Sherman is also the founder of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation’s International Conference on Cell Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease (IC3D), which is the foremost meeting for healthcare experts dedicated to the evolving field of cell-based therapies for the repair and regeneration of cardiac and vascular disease. Started in 2004, this annual conference gathers leaders from the international community who present their work, experiences, observations, and opinions on the benefits and unmet challenges of cell-based therapies. *
