Nestlé has agreed to acquire Pfizer Nutrition for $ 11.85 billion (€ 9 billion). The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approval, will be accretive to the Nestlé model both for growth and margins as well as the group's earnings per share in the full first year. Nestlé estimates the acquired business' 2012 sales at $ 2.4 billion. Eighty five percent of Pfizer Nutrition's sales are in emerging markets. In its strategic move to enhance its position in global infant nutrition, Nestlé said that Pfizer Nutrition complements its existing portfolio with strong brands in key segments and geographies. It will enhance its infant nutrition business, building on its  growth-focused strategy, global presence and pioneering research and development.  
* On December 1, 2012, Pfizer and Nestlé have announced the completion of the sale of Pfizer's Nutrition business to Nestlé for $11.85 billion in cash, following the conclusion of the required regulatory process in most markets. In certain countries where completion will be delayed due to ongoing regulatory review, Pfizer will continue to operate the business on an interim basis.
